The Lords Prayer

Text:  Matthew 6:9-13 & Luke

1.       Paternal Need  vs. 9

a.       We are God’s Children (Rom. 8:15; Gal. 4:6)

b.      If earthly fathers know how to give… (Luke 11:9-13)

2.       Enter God’s presence

a.       Through Praise (Ps. 100:4)

b.      Pray like we know God (vs.7)

3.       Pray God’s Priorities (vs  10)

a.       Your Kingdom come

b.      Rom. 14:7-8 (?)

4.       Pray for God’s Provision (vs.11)

a.       Give us

b.      Rely on Him for all our needs

c.       Daily

                                                               i.      Manna

                                                             ii.      Don’t worry about tomorrow

5.       Pray for Forgiveness (vs. 12) – 2 way street

a.       We need Forgiveness

b.      We need to give Forgiveness

c.       Measured by how we forgive others

d.      The Master that forgave the servant and the servant that demanded payment from others

6.       Power over the Enemy (vs.13)

a.       Pray for hedge of protection (Job 1:9-10, Ps.91:9-12)

b.      Verbally put on the Armor of God (Eph. 6:14-18)

7.       Partnership with God (vs.13)

a.       2 Tim. 4:18

b.      Luke 10:19

c.       John 17:22
