It’s WEDNESDAY the 16th day of September
Yesterday we started looking into the very sermon of Peter after being enabled by the Holy Spirit at the Pentecost— It’s quite long so broke it in parts— from the first part of his sermon we learned:
THE HOLY SPIRIT IS POURED OUT IN ME
TRUE DISCIPLES WHO CALLS ON HIS NAME WILL BE SAVED
Let’s continue reading Apostle Peter’s Sermon— Open your Bible to ACTS 2:14-21
— once you get there type, “let’s hear it from Peter”

22 “People of Israel, listen! God publicly endorsed Jesus the Nazarene by doing powerful miracles, wonders, and signs through him, as you well know. 23 But God knew what would happen, and his prearranged plan was carried out when Jesus was betrayed. With the help of lawless Gentiles, you nailed him to a cross and killed him. 24 But God released him from the horrors of death and raised him back to life, for death could not keep him in its grip. 25 King David said this about him: ‘I see that the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. 26 No wonder my heart is glad, and my tongue shouts his praises! My body rests in hope. 27 For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your Holy One to rot in the grave. 28 You have shown me the way of life, and you will fill me with the joy of your presence.’

JESUS OF NAZARETH WAS A MAN
Again we see describing Jesus as 100% man and 100% God
GOD’S DELIBERATE PLAN AND FOREKNOWLEDGE
Deliberate [Horizo]— appointed, determined, designated— done consciously [intentionally]
Foreknowledge [prognosis]— awareness of something before it happens or exist
Luke also said something about this— LUKE 22:22
GOD RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD
Peter shows the triumph of God who raised Jesus from the dead— demonstrating how evil intended by the Jewish mob was used by God for the ultimate good
Peter quoted the words of king David in PSALM 16:8-11
BECAUSE HE IS AT MY RIGHT HAND, I WILL NOT BE SHAKEN
With the Lord at his right hand, David was no shaken [Salevo] quicken, vibrate, wobble
YOU WILL NOT LET YOUR HOLY ONE SEE DECAY
The idea of a resurrection from death is where Peter finds the ultimate significance of David’s words
God would not allow him to experience permanent death
The “Holy One” was a title for Jesus— JOHN 6:69
Even the demons called Jesus the “Holy One”, when Jesus cast out a demon, this is how they responded to him— LUKE 4:34
YOU WILL FILL ME WITH THE JOY OF YOUR PRESENCE
There’s always joy in His presence
