I DECLARE WAR
Message Notes for Part 2 -
Intro: Fasting — you can’t just eat anything you want
Matthew 15:11 LEB 11It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth — this defiles a person.”

SPEAK LIKE A WARRIOR

The average person speaks 5,000 words a day.
Give an account for every idle (empty, unproductive, worthless) word!!
Matthew 12:36 NET 36 I tell you that on the day of judgment, people will give an account for every worthless word they speak.
Words are powerful
take them seriously.
If Jesus is Lord of your life, then He needs to be Lord of your lips too

YOUR WORDS IMPACT OTHER PEOPLE

Ephesians 4:29 ESV 29 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
Proverbs 18:21 NIV 21 The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
Colossians 4:6 ESV 6 Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.
Think about how a sporting team rallies with the coach and makes a shout out before they take their positions.
Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle” JOHN Watson
“I can live for two months on a good compliment.” - Mark twain
Generous with praise and stingy with criticism
What comes out of your mouth gets into your heart

YOUR WORDS IMPACT THE FUTURE

James 3:3–5 ESV 3 If we put bits into the mouths of horses so that they obey us, we guide their whole bodies as well. 4 Look at the ships also: though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs. 5 So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire!
Words create atmosphere
The atmosphere of expectation is a breeding ground for miracles
Jesus could do no mighty work where there was no faith.
Whatever you call it that’s what it is; what you speak gets stuck
Words can unlock a life you love or a life you loathe
When your words are full of faith impossible things can be done

YOUR WORDS IMPACT YOU

The person you talk to the most is yourself
Don’t be your critic be your coach:
“Whose side are you on the voice in my head?”
Stop listening to your fear and put some faith in the air
Psalm 43:5 NET 5 Why are you depressed, O my soul? Why are you upset? Wait for God! For I will again give thanks to my God for his saving intervention.
PUTTING ON GLASSES and GETTING READY TO SPEAK
Perhaps the most important words to say today:

THANK YOU!

GRATITUDE
Is of primary importance to God so it should be to us as well.
Psalm 95:2 LEB 2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving; with songs let us shout joyfully to him.
Psalm 100:4 LEB4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving, his courts with praise. Give thanks to him; bless his name.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 LEB 18 give thanks in everything; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.
Don’t just think it, speak it:
Psalm 107:2 LEB 2 Let the redeemed of Yahweh declare it, those whom he has redeemed from the hand of the enemy
It could change your life.
The anti-depressant Wellbutrin boosts the neurotransmitter dopamine
Prozac increases your levels of serotonin Gratitude does both.
research shows that something as simple as writing down 5 things you’re grateful for once a week can boost your happiness by up to 25%.
