Ezra the Scribe stood the whole people to attention, as he climbed onto a high platform where everybody could see and hear him, and then he spoke the word of God.

The people were guided ion their understanding of the word by a series of teachers who spoke to the people in their groups.

What do those people standing outside the (derelict) temple in Jerusalem have to do with you and me today?

BOTH

They and we need to discover that God loves each of us, just as we are.

That's where Scripture comes into play: the key method God uses to communicate with people (then and) today.

dedication of hearts (MH) not just our shelves/houses where an enemy may steal it, or our heads/minds where our memories may fail us, but in our hearts, where no-one can reach it

way= not a broad road but a narrow path a rut in the road, a track down which the young continually fall. A slippery slope down which you/they travel often
