No Greater Love Than this that a Man Laid down His Life for his Friends

Let Us Pray

It is evident from the fourteenth chapter of St. John to the cross that Jesus was going to leave this world.  The disciples didn’t understand it but it was good expedient, Caiaphas understood but not in its entirety.  It good to be known as the friend of Jesus.  The disciples were not always called friends.

First, Jesus called them from what they were doing to come and follow him.  (St. John 1:43) he said to Philip and Nathanael on his way to Galilee, “Follow me”.  God will call you just as you are to follow Him. (St. Matthew 11:28) All you that are heavy laden come unto me . . .
