The Pit of Passion - Judges 16:1-31
Notes
Transcript
God wants us to guard against selfish passion.
Why should we guard against selfish passion?
2 Reasons
1. Because feeding selfish passion leads to falling into sin: Samson traveled 40 miles to Gaza, spent part of the night with a harlot, and then humiliated the city by taking their gate away. (Judges 16:1-3 NKJV)
2. Because feeding selfish passion leads to severe consequences: Samson continued his passion of lust, Delilah betrayed Samson’s love for money, the Philistines humiliated Samson, and God graciously used Samson in his death. (Judges 16:4-31 NKJV)
