The Scripture for today’s message comes from the book of: Psalm 119:113–120 (NLT)
“113 I hate those with divided loyalties, but I love your instructions. 114 You are my refuge and my shield; your word is my source of hope. 115 Get out of my life, you evil-minded people, for I intend to obey the commands of my God. 116 Lord, sustain me as you promised, that I may live! Do not let my hope be crushed. 117 Sustain me, and I will be rescued; then I will meditate continually on your decrees. 118 But you have rejected all who stray from your decrees. They are only fooling themselves. 119 You skim off the wicked of the earth like scum; no wonder I love to obey your laws! 120 I tremble in fear of you; I stand in awe of your regulations.”

Disobedience—“I hate those who are undecided whether or not to obey you.” Disobedience causes indecision!

15 But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.”..... Joshua made a choice and it changed his life on earth and gave Him eternal life.

1 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. 3 For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. 4 He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

5 Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. 6 Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. 7 Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you. 8 Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished. 9 If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter,

10 no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. 11 For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. 12 They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone. 13 You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!

14 The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. 15 When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. 16 I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.”.

Hope—“I hope in thy Word.” Hope in God’s Word because it gives light—Ps. 119:105. One can always hope in God’s Word.

Do we ever pray to God to help us stay from evil people? Then
do we listen? Departure—“Depart from me, ye evil doers.” Christians should practice the teachings of 2 Corinthians 6:17..... “Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord. Don’t touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you.”

Let’s ask ourselves something......Are we really Determined, I mean really determined to keep the commandments of God? Do we really want to do His will? In all circumstances? In all situations? —“For I will keep the commandments of my God.” Earlier the Psalmist said, “Thy Word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee”...

Do you ever what really is your desire of our Father?

Psalm 119:116 “Lord, sustain me as you promised, that I may live! Do not let my hope be crushed.” Today’s wording....... “Lord, You promised to let me live! Never let it be said that God failed me” The Psalmist wanted to be a testimony of God’s power to keep and tell all of His Loving care.

We talked last week of our “Plea” Verse 117 tells us..... “Hold me safe, “sustain me...... above the heads of all my enemies; then I can continue to obey your laws” The Psalmist knew that he could not do it in his own strength; he needed God’s help! SOUND FAMILIAR?????

Why do we choose The destruction path?
Why do we choose The destruction path?
Are we really OK with fooling ourselves day in and day out? Psalm 119:118 “But you have rejected all who stray from your decrees. They are only fooling themselves"....... God cannot stand deceit. Deceit is a form of lying, and God is against all forms of lying.

Can we make an outline of what causes our destruction? Destruction from God destroys sinners and those who rebel against Him, in His own way and in His own time. Psalm 119:119 “You skim off the wicked of the earth like scum; no wonder I love to obey your laws!” Because God was and is just in all His ways, the Psalmist rejoiced in following His laws.

Are we recognizing The Deity of our Father?
Are we recognizing The Deity of our Father?
While we are aware of God, is our Respect obvious to those around us?
Psalm 119:120 “ I tremble in fear of you; I stand in awe of your regulations.”........ The Psalmist was not scared of God. He respected and honored God. This caused him to tremble. Have any of you ever met someone you considered a “celebrity?” Someone we respected and honored? You were probably in awe.....
