One of the most truly amazing verses in all the Bible is Genesis 50:20. There we are reminded that the very circumstances that are meant to harm God’s people God sovereignly orchestrates to bring about a greater possible good than we could have imagined! We find this principle showing up again in Philippians chapter one. Paul tells the Philippians that his persecution and imprisonment serve an immensely greater purpose than the believers might have thought at first glance.
