Cared For By The Good Shepherd (John 10:1-16)
Cared For By The Good Shepherd (John 10:1-16)
Jesus called Himself the “good Shepherd” (John 10:11-13).
The good Shepherd knows His sheep (John 10:3, 27).
Jesus is both the good Shepherd and the Door into the sheepfold (John 10:7-10).
He only has one sheepfold (John 10:16).
His flock is saved (Matt. 25:31-46).
Shepherds in the Congregation (Acts 20:28)
Shepherds in the Congregation (Acts 20:28)
Take heed to the flock (Acts 20:28); ‘to pay attention to, to keep on the lookout for, to be alert for, to be on one’s guard against.’
Are the bishops (overseers) of the flock (Acts 20:28; Phil. 1:1; 1 Pet. 2:25); it is important to try to combine the concepts of both service and leadership, in other words, the responsibility of caring for the needs of a congregation as well as directing the activities of the membership.
Are to be watchful for the flock (Acts 20:31; Titus 1:10-11; Heb. 13:7; 17).
Are to be examples for the flock (1 Peter 5:1-4).
Serve the flock for the Chief Shepherd (1 Peter 5:4; Heb. 13:20).
The Good Shepherd has so richly provided for His flock!
If you’re not in God’s flock, what are you waiting for - the Door stands ready to welcome you in!
