The Valley of Victory

Was not going to preach this meassage, but circumstances called for it.
I was informed last night that we were changing plans for today and thought to myself, “What am I going to do?”
God is in Control!
I went the easy way first, then I started listening to the Lord lead me back to this message.
We have talkd about valleys for a while, but this mirning we are going to talk about the valley of victory.
How many of you want victory this morning?
I want you watching by FB to go in your cubord and get you a bottle of oil or something that you can annoint yourself with.
That come later in the sermon.
Victory!
What does it take to get your victory this morning?

The Right Equipment

A passion for God
Faith in God’s Abilities
Remember the past
Who’s fight is it anyway?
Allow the Holy Spirit to use you!

Passion For God

1 Samuel 17:8 MEV
He stood and called out to the ranks of Israel, “Why have you come out to line up for battle? Am not I the Philistine, and you the servants of Saul? Choose for yourselves a man and let him come down to me.
We have stood on the edge of valley’s and been overcome with the fear.
This happens because we have listened to the world tell us how to follow God’s will.
The “experts” never take into consideration the abilities of God.
Psalm 1 MEV
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season; its leaf will not wither, and whatever he does will prosper. The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the ungodly will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly will perish.
Why do we always listen to what the world says over the God of this universe?
God is in control and with the passion of God in our lives we can overcome the world because Christ has already overcome the world!
It was obvious to even the Philistines that they were not the servents of God, but the servants of Saul!
We can not serve two masters!
If you want to imerge from the valley a victor, you must have a passion of God.

Faith in God’s Abilities

1 Samuel 17:11 MEV
When Saul and all Israel heard these words of the Philistine, they were filled with terror and were greatly afraid.
Why do we let the enemy put fear in our hearts?
The words of a man struck fear in the hearts of the Israelites.
When we realize the ablilites of the God that we serve, we do not have to fear the words of man.
We can stand tall and strong in the power of the Holy Spirit who gives us strength and boldness.
What happens when the enemy puts that fear in your heart is that it paralizes you and keeps you standing still rather than moving foward.
2 Timothy 1:7 MEV
For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and self-control.
God has not given us fear but what?
POWER
LOVE
SELF-CONTROL
We are the children of God and don’t think that for one moment that He will not give you what you need for the time that you are in.
God has abilities that we could not even imagine.
Ephesians 3:20 MEV
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly beyond all that we ask or imagine, according to the power that works in us,
Look at this!
He is able to do exceedingly, abudantly beyond...
It gets better!
What we ask or imagine!!!
Do you get it, we can’t even comprehend what God is able to do!
God is bigger than we know, better than we think, and more powerful than we imagine!
Where is your faith in this morning?

Remember The Past

1 Samuel 17:33 MEV
Saul said to David, “You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him. For you are but a youth, and he has been a man of war from his youth.”
You have to look into this verse a little deeper to see what is going on here.
Saul looked a David and liked his spunk, but could not agree that he could defeat the enemy because of his youth.
Listen to me!
Age has nothing to do with whether you can be used by God or not!
Remember that in the past God has dilivered you from some pretty bad things in your life!
Remember that in the past God has healed you from some pretty desperate sicknesses!
Remember that God has saved you from a life of sin that you could not get out of without His help!
We must turn to see and remember what God has done for you in the past.
1 Samuel 17:36–37 MEV
Your servant slew both the lion and the bear. And this uncircumcised Philistine will be as one of them, because he has reviled the armies of the living God.” David said, “The Lord who delivered me out of the paw of the lion and out of the paw of the bear, He will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you.”
David told of the time when a bear came out to attack the sheep and he killed the bear with his bear hands!
What about the time that the lion wanted to destry the livestock and David took him on and slayed it with his own hands.
Don’t tell me that God can’t use me!
I know what God can do with me, IF I let Him!
I once was lost but now I’m found!
Was blind but now I see!
Why do we listen to the world tell us what we can and can’t do when all the time God is tell us that we can do all things through Christ, because He is our strength and everpresent help in time of need!
Look back and remember what God has brought you from and then look through His eyes and see where He is going to take you through Him!

Whoes Fight Is It Anyway?

1 Samuel 17:45–47 MEV
Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, a spear, and a shield, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of Hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have reviled. This day will the Lord deliver you into my hand. And I will strike you down and cut off your head. Then I will give the corpses of the Philistine camp this day to the birds of the air and to the beasts of the earth so that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. And then all this assembly will know that it is not by sword and spear that the Lord saves. For the battle belongs to the Lord, and He will give you into our hands.”
David knew that he could not win against a seasoned warrior, but he knew that God could.
When we remember that God is the one who fights our battles, we can stand with confidence that the victory is our and there is noone or thing on the earth that can take it from us!
What happens when the enemy comes at you with threats and strong words of evil?
Do you know where you stand with the Lord of the Universe?
Do you have a relationship with the Father?
If you don’t, then you have a good reason to fear what the world has to throw at you.
But let me tell you...
Romans 8:31 MEV
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Psalm 27:1 MEV
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom will I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom will I be afraid?
Is Jesus Lord of your life this morning?
The fight is not for you to fight!
What gets us in the most trouble is when we try to fight against a foe that has already been defeated!
Satan lost when Jesus died on the cross!
When He was buried in a borrowed tomb!
When He rose again on the third day!
Jesus has defeated the enemy and he knows it.
This is why he prowls around trying to destroy you and me.

Allow The Holy Spirit to Use You

1 Samuel 17:48–49 MEV
When the Philistine arose and came near to meet David, David hurried and ran toward the battle line to meet the Philistine. David put his hand in his bag and took from there a stone. And he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead. Therefore the stone sunk into his forehead and he fell upon his face to the ground.
If David had not been on the front line and been moved by the taunt of Goliath;
If David had listened to his brother telling him to go home;
If David had got his feeling hurt because Saul said he was not capable;
If David had not allowed the Holy Spirit to use him, despite all these other things, the outcome would have been totally different.
The battle would not have ended in victory, and the enemy would have overtaken the Israelites in this valley.
What has the Holy Spirit told you to do while you have been in the valley this week, this month, this year?
It’s time to move in the Spirit this morning!
I know the enemy has fought like crazy this week.
He has even used avenues that I would have thought impossible.
But I know that my God never fails and I’m gonns see the victory, because this batle belongs to the Lord!
I want to do something this morning that The Holy Spirit impressed on me to do.
This may seem strange, it may seem not possible, but I know that God layed this on my heart last night.
Take the oil and annoint every one in your house hold if you are watching on FB.
Don’t do this half way!
You do what I am telling you as if you were standing right here in this alter!
Those that are sick with the virus!
Those that are down from surgery!
Those of you that have had a bad attitude!
Those of you that just don’t feel like God is real anymore!
Annoint yourself as an act of faith that we are going to lay hands on you virtually and I believe that the prayer of faith will heal the sick and set the captive free today!
Are you ready?!?
1 Samuel 17:50–51 MEV
So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone. And he struck down the Philistine and slew him, but there was no sword in the hand of David. Therefore David ran and stood over the Philistine. Then he took his sword and drew it from out of its sheath, and he finished him off and he cut off his head with it. When the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled.
When David obeyed and followed through with what God told him to do, he was victorious in the face of an impossible task!
PRAY!
