He Still Loves Me

Romans 5:8 NKJV
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Confession of Faith
I am not moved by what I see or by what I feel. I am moved by what I believe. I believe the WORD of God! The victory is mine! I have it now! I can see it through the eyes of my faith! In Jesus Name!
Introduction:
5 years ago was the Launch of United Christian Fellowship! Back then we started on Saturday Evenings at the Santa Teresa Presbyterian Church in San Jose!
Thank You to Pastor Tom and the entire Santa Teresa Presbyterian Church Family for their love and support!
The message was He Still Loves Me! I don’t know about you, but have you ever felt like you are just not worthy! I'm not talking about accomplishments or what people think of you, but does God find you worthy!
There is a song from the Soundtrack of
The Movie

The Fighting Temptations

I’ll share some of the lyrics
Took me a while, But I'm finally here So I just wanna testify; Make it crystal clear
See I've been picked on, To be picked on Talked about out of my friend's mouth
I've been beat down , until he turned my life around
Seems like I always fall short Of being worthy Because I’m not good enough

But He Still Loves Me

Romans 3:10–20 NLT
10 As the Scriptures say, “No one is righteous— not even one. 11 No one is truly wise; no one is seeking God. 12 All have turned away; all have become useless. No one does good, not a single one.” 13 “Their talk is foul, like the stench from an open grave. Their tongues are filled with lies.” “Snake venom drips from their lips.” 14 “Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.” 15 “They rush to commit murder. 16 Destruction and misery always follow them. 17 They don’t know where to find peace.” 18 “They have no fear of God at all.” 19 Obviously, the law applies to those to whom it was given, for its purpose is to keep people from having excuses, and to show that the entire world is guilty before God. 20 For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.
Many times my feeling unworthy is a result of my sinful nature

The Problem Of Sin

1. My sinful nature is unrighteous
to be righteous - you must be perfect and sinless
But there is some comfort knowing that "There is not a single person is righteous, that is, perfect and sinless—not by nature nor by act.
No man has ever lived a perfect life, not perfect... • in every thought • in every word • in every act
Romans 3:10 The Living Bible
10 As the Scriptures say, “No one is good—no one in all the world is innocent.”
2. My sinful nature is ignorant
Psalm 14:2 NLT
2 The Lord looks down from heaven on the entire human race; he looks to see if anyone is truly wise, if anyone seeks God.
Romans 3:11 AMP
11 No one understands [no one intelligently discerns or comprehends]; no one seeks out God.
The bible tells us - Not a single person can look at the world and put the truth of things together—perfectly about... • God • mankind • the world • the origin of all things • the purpose of all things • the destiny of all things
2 Timothy 3:7 NKJV
7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Micah 4:12 NCV
12 But they don’t know what the Lord is thinking; they don’t understand his plan. He has gathered them like bundles of grain to the threshing floor.
So then I realize, the sin nature in me is a problem -
Romans 3:21–24 NLT
21 But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. 22 We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. 23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. 24 Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.

The Wages Of Sin

Romans 6:20–23 NCV
20 In the past you were slaves to sin, and goodness did not control you. 21 You did evil things, and now you are ashamed of them. Those things only bring death. 22 But now you are free from sin and have become slaves of God. This brings you a life that is only for God, and this gives you life forever. 23 The payment for sin is death. But God gives us the free gift of life forever in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23 NKJV
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Wages Of Sin Verses The Gift Of God!

Sin deserves death for two very clear reasons.
So I realize it wasn’t me that deserved to die, but this thing called sin in me and around me!
a. This thing called Sin is acting against God, acting against His very nature.
Sin strikes out against God, attempts to tear down God's nature... • of purity and morality. • of holiness and glory. • of justice and righteousness. • of love and grace.
b. Sin is rebellion against God. It is rejecting God, ignoring God, disobeying God, denying God, and refusing to live for God.
The point is this.
True justice demands that sin(this entity )receive its payment or its wages.
Since sin is so opposed to God's nature and is actually rebellion against God, it deserves to die... • to be cast far, far away from God. • to have no part of God. • to be banished from God's sight. • to be separated from God's presence forever. • to be condemned and punished for having dishonored and cursed God so much.
As a laborer receives his wages, so sin shall receive its wages. Just as it would be unjust not to pay the laborer, it would be unjust not to pay sin for its work.
In fact, if sin did not receive its just punishment, it would be the most gross injustice of eternity. Why? Because sin is against against God Himself.
Sin must receive its just wages. Sin must die; it must be banished forever from the presence of God.

The Gift Of God

The gift of God is eternal life.
Eternal life is not the payment of wages.
A individual cannot work for and earn eternal life.

It is the gift of God, and it is only through Jesus Christ our Lord

The Love Of God

Romans 5:6–11 NLT
6 When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. 7 Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. 8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. 9 And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. 10 For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. 11 So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.
Romans 5:8 NKJV
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
We were being used by this entity called sin - therefore we were sinners
But God proved, show, exhibit, demonstrated His love toward each of us.
Even in this moment God is always showing and proving His love to us.
This is the unbelievable love of God, that He stooped down to saved us being used by sin
We would expect Him to save righteous and good men, but it catches us completely off-guard when it is stated that He saves sinners.
Such is the unbelievable love of God.
1. God proved His love by giving up His only Son to die for us.
Some earthly fathers would be willing to give up their sons for a "good" man or for a great cause. But how many would be willing to give up their sons for a man who was a liar, murderer, thief, rapist etc...
He gave up His Son to die for the unworthy and useless, the ungodly and sinful, the wicked and depraved—the worst sinners and outcasts imaginable.
Just think what God Himself must have gone through: the feelings, the suffering, the hurt, the pain, the terrible emotional strain.
Just think what is involved in God giving up His Son:
⇒ God had to send His Son out of the spiritual and eternal world (dimension) into the physical and corruptible world (dimension).
⇒ God had to humiliate His Son by stripping Him of His eternal glory and insisting that He become clothed with corruptible flesh and die as a man.
⇒ God had to watch His Son walk through life being rejected, denied, cursed, abused, arrested, tortured, and murdered.
God had to sit back and watch His Son suffer being murdered by the hands of men; He had to sit back when He knew He could reach out and deliver Him. ⇒ God had to destine His Son to die upon the cross for the sins of men.
⇒ God had to lay all the sins of the world upon His Son and let Him bear them all.
⇒ God had to judge His Son as the sinner and condemn Him to death for sin.
⇒ God had to turn His back upon Christ in death.
⇒ God had to cast His wrath against sin upon Christ.
⇒ God has to bear the pain of His Son's sufferings eternally, for He is eternal and the death of His Son is ever before His face.
Isaiah 53:5 NKJV
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
John 10:11 NKJV
11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.
John 15:13 NKJV
13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.

The Free Gift Of Salvation

Romans 6:23 NKJV
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:14–15 NCV
14 Sin will not be your master, because you are not under law but under God’s grace. 15 So what should we do? Should we sin because we are under grace and not under law? No!

Accepting The Free Gift

Romans 10:8–13 NKJV
8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Romans 10:9 NCV
9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and if you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you will be saved.
I'm not perfect, Yes I do wrong I'm trying' my best, but It not good enough Shunned be the world, If I don't succeed Because I’m not good enough

But he still loves me
