Time Magazine reported that the Senate Sub-Committee on time management said that with advances in technology within 20 years the average American would be working 22 hours a week within 20 years, and the great challenge would be figuring out what do with all the extra time.
1. Do you feel technology has given you extra time or that technology has consumed more of your time?
2. Do you find it challenging to find balance between God, family, work, friends, and hobbies?
3. What are some of the ways you that help give you balance?
4. Define the Sabbath.
5. What was the Sabbath’s original intended purpose for us?
6. In what ways have you found rest in Jesus?
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
7. Busyness and no rest is for fools. What does that statement speak to you?
20 Wisdom cries aloud in the street,
in the markets she raises her voice;
21 at the head of the noisy streets she cries out;
at the entrance of the city gates she speaks:
8. Pastor said: Wisdom is crying out raising its voice but people can’t hear it because of the loudness of the busyness in their lives. What are some of the loud things in your life that hinder you from rest?
9. Pastor said sometimes developing rest as a pattern in your life all you need to do is some rearranging. Consider this week rearranging and allow the Holy Spirit to show you how you can have more rest in your life.
