This Psalm of David speaks of a time when he was running from Saul and questioning why Sual would wan to kill.
This psalm moves from the intensely personal plea of a man who is betrayed and hounded, to the conviction that God is judge of all the earth, and that wickedness is self-defeating. So it ends with confidence and praise.
All us should want to see Justice prevail. We serve a wonderful God who wants to step in and your
There are 3 things we must know if we wan to see Justice prevail we must first check our own integrity.
Justice prevails when we check our integrity
English Standard Version Psalm 7
O LORD my God, if I have done this,
if there is wrong in my hands,
4 if I have repaid my friend with evil
or plundered my enemy without cause,
5 let the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it,
and let him trample my life to the ground
and lay my glory in the dust. Selah
So often we want the Lord to fight for us when we are the ones in the wrong. What have you done to cause the breach? Was it lies you told or gossip you spread?
Justice prevails because God will deal with the wicked
Oh, let the evil of the wicked come to an end,
and may you establish the righteous— you who test the minds and hearts, O righteous God!
10 My shield is with God, who saves the upright in heart.
11 God is a righteous judge, and a God who feels indignation every day. (Ps 7:9–11). Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles.
31 because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.” (Ac 17:31).
2 It shall come to pass in the latter days
that the mountain of the house of the LORD
shall be established as the highest of the mountains,
and shall be lifted up above the hills;
and all the nations shall flow to it,
3 and many peoples shall come, and say:
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD,
to the house of the God of Jacob,
that he may teach us his ways
and that we may walk in his paths.”
For out of Zion shall go forth the law,
and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
4 He shall judge between the nations,
and shall decide disputes for many peoples;
and they shall beat their swords into plowshares,
and their spears into pruning hooks;
nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
neither shall they learn war anymore. (Is 2:2–4). Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles.
Remember Wickedness leads to a pitfall
15 The nations have sunk in the pit that they made; in the net that they hid, their own foot has been caught.
16 The LORD has made himself known; he has executed judgment; the wicked are snared in the work of their own hands. (Ps 9:15–16). Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles
Justice prevails when we praise the Lord
