Main Point: I don’t have to be afraid
Main verce: 2 Timothy 1:7
Starting in NSK this week we are talking about fear, and more importantly how we don’t have to be afraid.
7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Fear is not from God! He gives use power, love and self-control. So that means when we find ourselves scared or afraid that the feeling is coming from the enemy, the devil/ satan. So what do we do with fear, we shrug it off and say 2 Timothy 1:7.
So with that in mind, this week and next week we are going to be talking about a subject and can lead to us being kind of scared, powerless and leave us confused. We are going to be talking about the Revelations, but more specifically what its going to look like when Jesus comes back, or what we call it in the church world the Rapture!
By a show if hands how many or you have heard Rapture before? And no I’m not taking about a Raptor (show raptor slide) but Rapture, the second coming of Jesus. Here at New Song Kids we believe the second coming of Jesus
11 and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”
We as believers look forward to this day. The return of Jesus is going to be a big deal! It’s not going to be anything like the first time. He came as a baby the first time around, but this time its going to be THE KINK OF KINGS coming in. He will be in POWER no one will be able to deny his kingship.
Before He establishes His kingdom on earth, Jesus will come for His Church, an event commonly referred to as the "Rapture."

At this time there are going be a two things that happen in the rapture.
The taking of the dead that are found in Christ

When Jesus comes back to take his people, the ones that have accepted him as Lord and savior, he will first take the dead in christ first
16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves.
Now before you say it, no these are not zombies! This resurrection is what Jesus’s looked like when he came back to life. In this resurrection, those who have died in Christ will have their redeemed souls and spirits united with a body similar to Christ's glorified body.
49 Just as we are now like the earthly man, we will someday be like the heavenly man.
This means.. When grandma and grandpa passed away their bodies were buried. When Jesus comes back, the people who have passed away, that believed in Jesus, their bodies will rise first.

16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. 17 Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.
52 It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed.
The second coming of Jesus will happen fast and no one knows when it will happen. I don’t share this to scare you, but i do share this so you will ready and have hope. Jesus is coming back, that is a promise. All we can do is be ready and wait for him to come back for us.
42 “So you, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know what day your Lord is coming. 43 Understand this: If a homeowner knew exactly when a burglar was coming, he would keep watch and not permit his house to be broken into. 44 You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected.
Lets be ready! Lets make sure are friends are ready! And we do this by asking Jesus into our hearts and saying that he is Lord of are lives.
