Transcript
God uses many people in this world to achieve his purposes. One person who used was John the Baptist. Scripture says in Luke 7:28, I tell you, among those born of women none is greater than John. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he. John the baptist served a unique purpose for the kingdom of God, and we can learn much from him.
John the Baptist had purpose for his life before he was born.
Read: Luke 1:5-24, Luke 1:53-80
Question: What was John the Baptist purpose in his life?
Answer: He was to be a forerunner for Christ telling people about the Messiah who was to come.
2. John the Baptist was bold.
Read: Luke 3:1-20
Question: In what ways was John bold?
Answer: He was bold by calling people to repentance.
3. John was humble
Read: Matthew 3:13-17
Question: In what way did he show humility when interacting with Jesus?
Answer: He knew he was not worthy yet served the Lord faithfully
