Transcript
Sa Revelation 17 nalaman natin na ang mundo ay patungo sa isang relihiyon sa buong mundo. Yung religion na yan ay binigyan ng Pangalan sa verse 5.
Misteryo, ang Dakilang Babilonya, ang Ina ng mga Harlots (pokpok) and of the Abominations (disgusting) kadiri of the Earth.
At Dito sa Chapter 17 ang pagkawasak at matatapos, final na yan sa isang religion ng mundo.
Alam mo, Ang mga tao ay relihiyoso.
Ang mga tao talagang worshipers, mga sumasamba ayun sa creation, ayun sa nature. Anito, etc.
We will worship something somewhere, and that is because God made us to be worshipers.

Chapters 17 and 18 is an intermission(hinto) between chapters 16 and 19 dahil connected yung 16 to 19 at itong final episode na totoong drama ay makikilala ng kasaysayan ng sangkatauhan na sinulat pa ng Diyos.
HIS-STORY
Chapter 16 ay sarado na, ibinuhos ang ikapitong mangkok, ang huling salot, galit ng Diyos.
Sinusundan iyon kaagad ng papuri sa langit,
Chapter 19, at pagkatapos ay ang pagbabalik ni Hesu-Kristo.
So bali yung nangyari sa katapusan ng chapter 16 ay kaagad chapter 19.
Chapters 17 and 18 as I said is an intermission (break) and describe for us not the judgment (we already saw the judgments ending in chapter 16) but what is being destroyed by the final judgments of God that we have seen in chapter 16, namely the world religion and the world empire ruled by Satan.

Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters,

gayon, ang relihiyong ito sa daigdig ay tinawag na pokpok sapagkat hindi ito ang totoong ikakasal ni Cristo.
Tayo ay ikakasal kay Christo, ang mga naniwala sa kanya at tumangap sa kanya.
Itong Great Harlot ay naka upo sa maraming tubig. Anu meaning nito?
Many waters ibig sabihin maraming nation.
Yung Great Harlot na yan, yan ang false na simbahan, yung system na nagkaroon ng power at mga batas upang mamuno ng mga nation.

The woman pictures false religion that will dominate the world in the tribulation period." (Hocking) Many people like to identify this great harlot with the Roman Catholic Church, ngunit ang maling na relihiyon ay hindi limitado sa alinmang isang simbahan.

2 with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.”

3 So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

Yung 7 heads at sampung sungay dini describe ang Anti-Christ.
Ten Horns= Sampung hari
Ang sampung mga hari ay may isang layunin at ibigay ang kanilang kapangyarihan at awtoridad sa Anti-Christ.

4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication. 5 And on her forehead a name was written:

MYSTERY,

BABYLON THE GREAT,

THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH

Kapansin-pansin, ang mga Romanong pokpok ay madalas na nagsusuot ng isang headband na may nakaukit or nakasulat ang pangalan nila.
So yung harlot ay na kumakatawan sa lahat ng maling relihiyon.

Sa Lumang Tipan, ang pangalang Babylon ay nauugnay sa organisation na diyos diyosan, blasphemy, at pinapatay nila ang God’s People. Israel.
Ayon sa kasaysayan ng relihiyon at alamat, ang relihiyon sa Babilonya ay itinatag ng asawa / ina ni Nimrod (isang apo sa tuhod ni Noe), na pinangalanang Semiramis. Siya ay isang mataas na saserdote ng pagsamba sa idolo, at nanganak siya ng isang anak na lalaki na inangkin niyang himalang himalang. Ang anak na lalaki, na nagngangalang Tammuz, ay itinuring na tagapagligtas.

6 I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement.

7 But the angel said to me, “Why did you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns.

8 The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

9 “Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits.

Yung head = yan ang halimaw, yung Anti Christ
Seven heads ay seven na bundok
Yung City of Rome is built on seven Hills.
Yung mga bundok represent seven empires, seven kings. Who are they? Well, Lima ay wala na. If we go back to Daniel, chapter 2, we find out about who the kingdoms are.  Daniel’s vision pictured four kingdoms: Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome.   Those were the great four world empires: Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome. Prior to those, there were two great world empires: Egypt and Assyria. At the time John wrote the book of Revelation, Rome pa yung may power and was still a great world power.
So, going way back to the beginning of history, according to the biblical frame of reference, we have Egypt, Assyria – that’s one and two – Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome.  The six great world powers.  As John writes, five are fallen. Five have gone out of existence. What are they? Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece. And as John writes, there is one still in existence. What is it? Rome.  In fact, John is in exile by the Roman government to the island of Patmos. Again five are fallen, namely, Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, and Greece. “Then,” says the angel, “one is” – that is Rome. “Then,” he says, “the other has not yet come.” What is that? That is the future kingdom of Satan and Antichrist. Many Bible scholars refer to it as a revived Roman Empire. So, the seven hills represent seven kings. Five are fallen, one is Rome, one is yet to come which anticipates the final empire of Antichrist.

10 There are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come. And when he comes, he must continue a short time. 11 The beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth, and is of the seven, and is going to perdition.

the beast that was= yung 7th kingdom is to come, Ang sinasabi nito ay ang ikapito ay ang kahariang darating, ang kaharian ng Antichrist sa hinaharap.Hindi lang yung 7th pero yung 8th din.

the final kingdom is the seventh, and then the eighth, but it is composed of the ten horns – a horn being an indication of power and authority.  In the final kingdom of Antichrist, we are told in the Bible that the ten horns refer to ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom.
During the time of Antichrist’s reign, there will be ten kings that help him rule the globe. Verse 14 says that. “These will wage war against the Lamb.” That’s what they’re going to do. That’s their agenda, and that’s their purpose.

12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast.

Yung ten horns ay sampung hari, mga leaders sa European nation.

13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. 14 These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.”

Isang pagiisip ang 10 Kings or mga leaders na yun. Bibigyan nila yung karapatan at authoridad mamuno sa Anti Christ. Ang Goal ng sampung Kings na ito ay:
Mag gyera kay Jesus pero sa huli talo na sila dahil Si Jesus, siya ang Panginoon ng mga panginoon at Hari ng mga hari; at ang mga kasama Niya ay tinawag, pinili, at tapat. ”
Anu ba ang mga katangian sa mga na kay Christo?
Mga Tinawag, pinili, at Tapat.

16 “You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.

15 Then he said to me, “The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues. 16 And the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire.

Sa huli, ang Antikristo ay hindi magpaparaya sa anumang pagsamba sa sinumang diyos maliban sa kanyang sarili. In 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4, we read, “The son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshipped, so that he sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
Nakuha niya ang kontrol sa mundo, nais ng antikristo na sambahin siya ng mundo. Nais niyang maging Diyos. Iyon ang pinakahuling blasphemy (disrespectful) Hindi niya nais ang mundo na mayroong anumang iba pang relihiyon kaysa sa pagsamba sa kanyang sarili.

Sa verse 16
This violence probably takes place at the mid-point of the tribulation period. Here, apostate religion yung One religion, yung maling system ma didiscover nila yung tunay na anyo at ugali ng Anti Christ.
Kapag ang kanyang kapangyarihan ay pinagsama-sama, ang Antichrist ay hindi na nangangailangan ng tulong ng relihiyosong Babilonia, or yung Apostate religion, one religion na ang leader ay yung False prophet.

17 For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled.

Ang Kanyang layunin sa pamamagitan ng pagkakaroon ng isang karaniwang layunin, at sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng kanilang kaharian sa Anti Christ, hanggang sa ang mga salita ng Diyos ay matupad. "

Diyos Mula sa umpisa hanggang sa wakas, ang Diyos ang namumuno upang matupad ang Kanyang layunin sa pamamagitan ng pagkakaroon ng isang karaniwang layunin.
Tapat talaga si Lord sa kanya,
Sovereign talaga at control niya kung anu nangyayari.
Matutupad ang lahat ng naka sabi sa Bible dahil Pangako niya eto.

Application:
Ang sumasampalataya kay Jesucristo ay magkakaroon ng buhay na walang hanggan
​
Ang sumasampalataya kay Jesucristo ay magkakaroon ng buhay na walang hanggan (Juan 3: 15-16, 36; 6:40, 47; 20:31).
​
Ang sumasampalataya sa Panginoong Jesus ay maliligtas (Gawa 16:31; Roma 1:16).
​
Ang sumasampalataya sa Diyos ay mayroong buhay na walang hanggan (Juan 5:24).
​
Ang lumapit kay Cristo ay tatanggap ng pahinga para sa kanyang kaluluwa (Mat. 11: 28-29).
Ang lumapit kay Jesus ay magkakaroon ng buhay at hindi itatapon (Juan 5:40; 6:37).
Ang sumunod kay Hesus ay tatanggap ng walang hanggang kaligtasan (Mga Hebreo 5: 9).
Ang sumasampalataya sa Panginoong Jesus ay mabubuhay kahit na siya ay namatay (Juan 11:25).
Ang nabubuhay at naniniwala kay Cristo ay hindi mamamatay (Juan 11:26). Ang sumusunod kay Hesus, ang Liwanag ng mundo, ay hindi lalakad sa kadiliman ngunit magkakaroon ng Liwanag ng buhay (Juan 8:12).

Ang isa na nagsisisi sa kanyang mga kasalanan ay tatanggap ng kapatawaran ng mga kasalanan (Luc. 24:47; Cf. Gawa 8:22).
Ang maawain ay tatanggap ng awa (Mat. 5: 7).
Ang taong malinis sa puso ay makakakita sa Diyos (Mat. 5: 8). Ang gumagawa ng kalooban ng Diyos ay nabubuhay magpakailanman (1 Juan 2:17).
Ang sumasampalataya kay Cristo ay tatanggap ng Banal na Espiritu (Gal. 3: 2, 14; Efe. 1:13; Juan 7: 37-39).
Ang sumunod sa Diyos ay bibigyan ng Banal na Espiritu (Mga Gawa 5:32).
Ang nakakaalam ng katotohanan ay mapalaya ng katotohanan at ni Cristo na nagbigay nito (Juan 8: 31-32, 34, 36).
Ang isang matuwid ay papasok sa kaharian ng Diyos (Mat. 25: 31-34; cf. v. 46).
​
Ang tumatawag sa pangalan ng Panginoon ay maliligtas at mahuhugasan ang kanyang mga kasalanan (Roma 10:13; Gawa 2:21; 22:16).
