Introduction:
Have you ever heard the phrase “Every man for themselves.”
When I hear that phrase, I think of situations that had order that have turned to chaos. When things fall into chaos people begin to panic. When people start panicking they do things they would have never done under normal circumstance.
We live in a state right now of panic and confusion. Everything is uncertain around us from jobs, to schools, to the government, and even church. Everyone is looking to the leaders and the leaders are unsure of the answers as well.
There is a scene in the movie “Titanic” when all is lost and the ship is going down. As people are trying to escape the inevitable, a French woman seeing the captain on deck runs to him and says, “Captain, what should be do! What should we do!” The captain with no words and no advise turns and walks away. With no words he said to her, “All hope is lost. Every man for themselves.”
But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty.

As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet.
For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.
The world is growing for healing and restoration emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
Spiritually: Deception, false Christs,
Emotionally: social ills, wars, and rumors of wars.
Physically: global warming, famine, earthquakes, fires, floods. We are living in the last days.
For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

We must illustrate the Love of God by loving others more than we love ourselves.
“People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care” - Theodore Roosevelt
Jesus revealed God’s love through his sacrifice for us.We show God’s love through our sacrifice for others.
We must demonstrate the power of God’s relationship with us.
Living by faith and not by sight.
People need to see the working of God in our everyday lives.
Through the power of answered prayer
Through the authority of God’s people
Through unconditional love
We must educate people in the truth of God’s Word.
Teaching people how to love and care for each other.
Teaching people to sacrifice for God’s glory and will.
