Introduction

Somewhere throughout the middle of my week, I really started to think about how much time we spend in preparation. Last week was end of the month at work so we are to close as many work orders as possible. Then October is budget month, so we have to try and put some numbers together on where we think we will be the following year with our money. Keshia is leaving for women of joy this weekend so there have been plans made for that, and as soon as she gets back, we are headed to Gulf Shores for vacation for a week.
If you stop to think about it, we spend a large majority of our time in preparation for something. When this thought settled in my mind, I began to think about how much God does in preparation as well. Did you realize that God has been preparing to meet you face to face since the beginning of time. Have you ever sat and thought about how much effort God really has put into not only creating the universe, but also maintaining it, and then also planning for its eternal existence.
Genesis 1:1 NKJV
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
1 Peter 1:18–20 NKJV
18 knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. 20 He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you
John 14:2–3 NKJV
2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
Revelation 21:1–4 NKJV
1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
So I ask question: I wonder if we spend as much time preparing for our meeting with God as God has?
I want to speak to you on that topic today: Prepare To Meet Thy God.

Salvation (2 Tim. 2:19)

Separation (2 Tim. 2:19-21)

2 Timothy 2:19–21 NKJV
19 Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” 20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. 21 Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.
Ephesians 1:4 NKJV
4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,
If we do not separate ourselves from sin, the sin will separate us from God. Sin does just that; it separates people from God. Sin is in direct conflict with God.

Service (2 Tim. 2:21)

Ephesians 2:10 NKJV
10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Conclusion

1 Corinthians 2:9 NKJV
9 But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
