The Hour Has Come

Turn to John 12 27
Jesus was troubled, but for what reason?
Jesus / God the Son, came as a baby to earth
Born of a virgin
fully human , but still all God
lived a perfect life to give himself as a perfect sacrifice
as foretold in the Old Testament
Isaiah 50:6 AV
6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.
Isaiah 53:7 AV
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
Isaiah 53:5–6 AV
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Turn to Psalm 22
The Hour of the mission of Jesus - to take the penalty for sin
reading
but this is not the reason for the trouble
later on in the garden
Matthew 26:38 AV
38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
the spiritual pain Jesus is going to endure is going to be far worse than the physical pain
in our fallen state we cannot understand the full weight of being removed from Gods presence
the weight of the sin upon Himself, who knew no sin
for the first time in eternity The Father and son are separated
The full weight of the wrath of God was put upon Jesus
the agony of being alone
The penalty of our sin

What can I Say?

V 27 Father make it stop
Is there another way?
Of course there is not another way
God is a Just God thus sin has to be punished
God is a holy God, and we in our sinful natures cannot be in His presence
our punishment for sin is separation from God forever
But because God is love Jesus says
V 27

For Gods Glory

V 28
Jesus looking at The horror of the cross, you would think Jesus would say my sheep need me
but He goes for the glory of God
for Gods glory to be manifested in its fullest
it needs to be demonstrated by the cross
Gods glory is demonstrated in His attributes
Justice, wrath, grace, Love, mercy, wisdom, sovereignty, Righteousness, Goodness,
these Jesus demonstrated to His enemies
nothing good in us nothing worthy
Jesus died on the cross for The Fathers Glory
But we are the beneficiary of the glory of God
all of these attributes are given to us

Father Glorify Your Name

Jesus endured the punishment of millions of people for the Glory Of God
are we willing to endure whatever the Father wants of us for His Glory?
do we count it a privileged to do for His Glory
do we look at our cross as joy
Philippians 1:20 AV
20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.
Use my body Father to glorify thy name
use my humiliation, sickness, prison, homelessness, cancer, failing body parts...
By Faith
our lives should be a life that is lived by faith
trusting in the Father, knowing He is in control
knowing of that blessed hope that Jesus will return for His bride
