Introduction

Today, I want to talk to you about something that every Christian ought to possess/ and express but so few actually do. I want to talk to you about something that should set Christians apart from the rest of the world. I want to talk to you about something, that when expressed correctly, will draw a person to Christ and change their lives forever! I want to talk to you about something that we Christians need to be taking out to a lost and dying world more than ever! I want to talk to you this morning on the topic of How to Have an Attitude of Gratitude!

He’s Hope for the Homeless (Vs. 1-9)

Vs. 1
Psalm 18:1-3 1 I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. 2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. 3 I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
Lamentations 3:21-2221 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. 22 It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
Malachi 3:6 6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
Vs. 2
“Redeemed” — to rescue or deliver, to liberate & set free, to restore, repair.
Vs. 3
Isaiah 40:11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Vs. 4
“Wandered” — to err, to wander, to go astray, to stagger
“In a solitary way” — a waste, desert, wilderness, desolate place
Vs. 5
Amos 8:11-12 11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: 12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.
Vs. 6
Psalm 50:14-15 14 Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High: 15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
Vs. 7
“Right way”
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
“City of habitation”
Hebrews 13:14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.
Hebrews 11:8-10 8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. 9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: 10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
Speaking of the Heroes of Faith — Hebrews 11:16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
We ought to be like that ole song that says...
Oh Lord, Oh Lord, I have no friend like you. If Heaven’s not my home, then Lord what will I do? The Angels beckon me, from Heaven’s open door. And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore!

He’s Hope for the Helpless (Vs. 10-16)

Vs. 13
John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

He’s Hope for the Hurting (Vs. 17-22)

He’s Hope for the Hopeless (Vs. 23-32)

He’s the Hope of the Hopeful (Vs. 33-43)

Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Isaiah 59:1 1 Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
Psalm 50:14-15 14 Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High: 15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
2 Chronicles 7:14 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
