1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.
7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the realm of heaven’s kingdom. It is only those who persist in doing the will of my heavenly Father.
22 On the day of judgment many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, don’t you remember us? Didn’t we prophesy in your name? Didn’t we cast out demons and do many miracles for the sake of your name?’
23 But I will have to say to them, ‘Go away from me, you lawless rebels! I’ve never been joined to you!’
Introduction:
Introduction:
two principles working in the earth
1 principle of God’s authority
2 principle of satan’s rebellion
the question is who will be in control in your life, who will you obey.
the father needed a point of obedience on earth to establish his throne of authority. Authority must be enforceable through required obedience (Law). In the absence of law there is lawlessness.
19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
46 Why do you keep on saying that I am your Lord, when you refuse to do what I say?
Obedience Defined
Obedience Defined
to comply with the wished, instructions or commands of; to comply with or to follow; to respond ready to, to submit or conform to
Submit- to give over or yield to the power or authority of another, to defer to another’s judgement, opinion or decision.
God is looking for us to be both willing and obedient but ultimately he will judge us on our obedience.
we should replace believers with obeyers
Good intention is not good enough, we must actually do the will of the father
23 And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?
24 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things.
25 The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?
26 But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet.
27 And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.
28 But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.
29 He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.
30 And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.
31 Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.
32 For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.
God wants us willing and obedient
19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
why God wants you willing
he don’t want us like robots, but rather have willing hearts
he is looking more at our availability than our ability
he is looking for total commitment
he is looking at the attitude of out hearts
what we need to know in order to obey God:
know God’s heart
unbelief led to disobedience= unwillingness to accept God’s ways
God sent Israel to obedience school in the desert 40 years!
2. knowing God’s heart leads to a love relationship
it become easy to submit your will when you are in love with the person
love make us willing to sacrifice for what the other person wants.
3. love relationship results in trust
trust that God has our best interest at heart
trust that God will use delegated authority to bring forth his purpose in our lives
Romans 8.28 believe God will cause all things to work together for our good
The Principle of satan’s rebellion
The Principle of satan’s rebellion
rebellion= open, organized and armed resistance to a government or ruler, resistance to or defiance of any authority, control or tradition.
rebel= a person who refuses allegiance to, resists, or rises in arms against a government or ruler, defiant, rebellious
23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, He hath also rejected thee from being king.
sinning is a matter of conduct, rebellion is a matter of violating principle. It is judged more severely than sin
The Fall of lucifer because of rebellion
The Fall of lucifer because of rebellion
example 5 i will
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
18 Pride goeth before destruction, And an haughty spirit before a fall.
Fall of Adam and Eve
Fall of Adam and Eve
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
Eve didn’t consider the word of authority God, nor that of her husband, but saw the fruit and made up her own mind to tase of it
When we decide to do what we want rather than what God wants thats rebellion
obedience releases the blessing
disobedience = rebellion licens the devil to cause curse in your life
Deuteronomy 28:1-15 talks about the blessings for obeying
Deuteronomy 28:16-65 talks about the curse for disobedience
