The vision of the Throne

Chapters 4 & 5

READ THE CHAPTERS FIRST

The first three chapters dealt with the church on earth. Now the scene changes in chapters 4 and 5 as John, in the Spirit, is taken up into heaven to view the activities around God's throne.

List the things that John saw in the following verses:

The King James Version uses the word “beast” to describe the angelic beings that are found around the throne, but the Revised Version uses “living creatures” to describe them.

The reader should remember that when the apostle John uses the word “beast” to describe persons or activities around the throne of God, he is referring to angelic beings.

Read Isaiah 6:2-6. In these verses the same angelic beings are called seraphim.
