Read Romans 13:4
Head:
Have sailors identify and make observations about the following passages of what a warrior after God’s heart looks like:
Philippians 3:20-21 (a citizen of heaven)
John 15:14-17 (loyal to their Commander)
Ephesians 6:10-13 (makes a stand)
Ephesians 6:14-17 (prepares for battle)
Proverbs 4:23 (guards their heart)
Psalm 15:1-5 (has integrity *walking the talk*)
2 Timothy 2:15 (is authentic)
John 15:13 (lays their life on the line)
1 Timothy 5:8 (provides for their loved ones)
Psalm 150:6 (worships God)
Exodus 20:13 (does not murder)

Questions
Based off our observations of what a faithful warrior looks like, how would you summarize this faithful warrior in your own words?
Specifically looking at Exodus 20:13, how do we Christian warriors reconcile our call to warfare, whether it be directly or indirectly, in light of this command?
Perform word study on “murder” for sailors
Read Exodus 15:3
Read Genesis 1:27
3. What is connection can we draw between these two passages?
a. Are there any examples of warriors in the Bible that you can think of and the expectation God had for them?
i. David
Read 1 Samuel 13:14
4. What God’s expectation from David?
a. To be spiritually fit you have to be a person after God’s heart. If you’re created in the image of God and He is a warrior, then you’ve been created to reflect and emulate that attribute of God in your own life.
Hands:
Walk with God: What does being a faithful warrior look like personally in your walk with God?
Keep Christ first: What does being a faithful warrior look like personally when we keep Christ first?
Keep sin out of your life: What does being a faithful warrior look like personally when you are keeping sin out of your life?
Personally,
A warrior is only as effective as their handling of their weapon.
The more a warrior trains with their sword, the more effective they become with the utilization of their sword
A warrior who shows up to the warfare with untrained hands is more useful to the enemy than the King they serve
For me, ensuring that I am reading, engaging, and meditating upon Scripture ensures that I am properly prepared to endure the day of spiritual warfare to come.
