A Higher Experience

The Transfiguration
Mar 9:2  And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
Mar 9:3  And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.
Mar 9:4  And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.
Mar 9:5  And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
Mar 9:6  For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid.
Mar 9:7  And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
Mar 9:8  And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves.
Mar 9:9  And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead.
Jesus waits six days before ascending upon the mountain possibly Mt Hermon.
Note is was a six day wait before Moses ascended Mt. Sinai to recieved the commandments from God.
Exo 24:15  And Moses went up into the mount, and a cloud covered the mount.
Exo 24:16  And the glory of the LORD abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud.
3. There are times in our walk with Christ that He has to take us to a higher level to reveal to us more of his wonder and identity.......
Just because you got a shake, or spoke in tongue and experienced a few miracles and breakthroughs in your life, God has so many tidbits of His awesomeness to reveal to us ..that will blow your mind.........It left Peter so stunned that He didn’t know what to say or do......
Peter was so confused and in awe of this sight that he asked of Jesus if three shelters for each Jesus, Moses and Elijah.
Why these three all the time …had to be taken away from the other disciple to be revealed a deeper insight of Jesus?.
They were Galileans and they were not known for being the brightest.
They were the bolder to the twelve....
They failed more publickly than the others....
Jesus knew they needed more nurturing.......
A cloud over shadowed them and when it lifted there was only Jesus visible.
We should construct our life to be a temple of the Holy Spirit.
Paul says our body is the temple of the Holy Ghost
I am elated that I can become a house for the Holy Spirit of God
To have Jesus alive within me.
1Co 6:19  What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
1Co 6:20  For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
Just as Jesus was transformed before the disciples, we must transform from being carnal to the spiriutal.
The apostle Paul puts it this way.
Rom 12:1  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Rom 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Closing: The Final Transformation of the Saints of God..
1Co 15:50  Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
1Co 15:51  Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1Co 15:52  In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1Co 15:53  For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
1Co 15:54  So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
1Co 15:55  O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
1Co 15:56  The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
1Co 15:57  But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1Co 15:58  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
