God's promised blessings through the application of Wisdom in your Life

Notes
Transcript

My son, forget not my law, but let thine heart keep my commandments for length of days, and years of life, and peace, shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth, those primary requirements of wisdom, forsake thee; bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thy heart. Let them be an ornament which strikes the eye of the beholder, but also an inward law which regulates the secret thought. So shall thou find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man;

What he is saying there in that last scripture is that when you follow the wisdom of God, when you let wisdom be your guide, the charm of your character will conciliate the love of thy fellow creatures and of thy God. That word conciliate means to win over, to reconcile. In other words when you use wisdom, you reconcile your enemies, or those who may distrust you, you gain them over because your character has undergone a change which cause your enemies to regard you in good favor. Just by using the wisdom of God. He continues; He continues, Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not to our own understanding, in all thy ways acknowledged Him, and He shall direct your path. Be not wise in thy own eyes, fear the Lord, and depart from evil; it shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. Honor the Lord with thy substances, and with the first-fruit of all thy increase. So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy vats shall overflow with new wines. The rewards of wisdom, then, are health and long life, the goodwill of God and man, prosperity, and abundant earthly possessions. Christ makes mention of these same blessings in Luke 18:29-30. He says those who leave house, or wife, or bretheren, or parents, or children, for the kingdom of God;s sake, shall receive maniflod more in this time, even of the things which they surrender, in addition, to the everlasting life in the time to come
