HOOK

DO NOT FORGET TO UNMUTE
It’s the 6th day of October.. Another gorgeous Tuesday morning!— In case you have not heard, President Trump was out of he Walter Reed Medical Center last night & back to the White House
Yesterday right here at “The Message” we started with chapter 5 of the Book of Acts— we looked at the story of Ananias and Sapphira— from their bad example, we learned that we must not lie when we make a commitment to God
Do not make a commitment to God just to gain honor or prestige in your church or community and then lie about it to cheat God on the commitment you yourself made freely— remember these 2 things that we learned from what Peter told Ananias and Sapphira before they died:
I WILL NOT LIE TO THE HOLY SPIRIT
I WILL NOT PUT THE SPIRIT OF GOD TO TEST
Now, let’s continue with chapter 5 and see what acts of the apostles are recorded in there— Open your Bible to ACTS 5:12-16, once you get there type, “I’m ready!”
When reading in advance, whenever you’re studying God’s Word— look for words that defines that CHARACTER of God, COMMANDS to obey, PROMISES to claim, good EXAMPLES to follow and bad examples to avoid, ENCOURAGEMENTS & CHALLENGES to keep you going, reasons to be THANK GOD for, PRAYERS to pray
READ ACTS 5:12-16

BOOK

Acts 5:12–16 NLT
12 The apostles were performing many miraculous signs and wonders among the people. And all the believers were meeting regularly at the Temple in the area known as Solomon’s Colonnade. 13 But no one else dared to join them, even though all the people had high regard for them. 14 Yet more and more people believed and were brought to the Lord—crowds of both men and women. 15 As a result of the apostles’ work, sick people were brought out into the streets on beds and mats so that Peter’s shadow might fall across some of them as he went by. 16 Crowds came from the villages around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those possessed by evil spirits, and they were all healed.
WHAT: Peter and the Apostles healed many
WHERE: Solomon’s Colonnade was mentioned, it was located at the temple, so most likely this happened in the streets of Jerusalem— in verse 16 it was also said “towns around Jerusalem”
WHEN: It was not mentioned, we could just say during the days of the early church
WHO: Peter, Apostles, Crowd from Jerusalem and neighboring towns
WHY: Heal the sick
Outright you will see the connection between that act of actually believing and their expectation for healing
Did you know the hospitals was invented / created by Christians?
The very first hospital in human history was established by our early Christian brothers and sisters
No civilian hospital existed until the Christian period.[1] Towards the end of the 4th century, the "second medical revolution"[2] took place with the founding of the first Christian hospital in the eastern Byzantine Empire by Basil of Caesarea
Let me unpack this for you to see what else can we learn from it

LOOK

THE APOSTLES PERFORMED MANY SIGNS AND WONDERS
Do you remember when Jesus authorized them to these?— MATTHEW 10:1
The Lord even said that they and us will even do greater things [the hospitals across the globe is an evidence]— JOHN 14:12-13
But keep in mind, it is our faith in Jesus that heals— MARK 5:34
ALL THE BELIEVERS USED TO MEET TOGETHER
This repeats Luke’s emphasis on the unity of the early church— they eat together, they worship together, they pray together— Stronger Together
NO ONE ELSE DARED JOINED THEM, EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE HIGHLY REGARDED
They were highly regarded because of the many signs and wonders, but perhaps people are afraid of the Sanhedrin
PEOPLE BROUGHT THE SICK INTO THE STREETS
They laid them on beds and mats hoping that at least Peter’s shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by— it was their faith that caused them to do that
ALL OF THEM WERE HEALED
Because of these miracles— the influence spread as people recognize the truth of the gospel and embrace the lordship of Christ
As a result of this growing Christian influence— opposition grew as well— we will look into that tomorrow— when the apostles were persecuted

TOOK

CHRISTIANITY ESTABLISHED THE HOSPITALS
IT IS OUR FAITH THAT HEALS
