DO NOT FORGET TO UNMUTE
It’s the 7th day of October— another beautiful Wednesday— I had a minor crashed last night
Yesterday right here at “The Message” we saw great signs and wonders performed by Peter and the apostles— they healed many in the streets of Jerusalem— the connection between believing and healing— it was their faith that caused the to bring their sick to the streets so that at least the shadow of Peter might fall on some of them— from this we learned:
CHRISTIANITY ESTABLISHED THE HOSPITALS
IT IS OUR FAITH THAT HEALS
Now let’s see how the Jewish leaders reacted to this great miracle witnessed by many— open your Bible to ACTS 5:17-29—once you get there, type “let’s hear the Sanhedrin!”
When reading in advance, whenever you’re studying God’s Word— look for words that defines that CHARACTER of God, COMMANDS to obey, PROMISES to claim, good EXAMPLES to follow and bad examples to avoid, ENCOURAGEMENTS & CHALLENGES to keep you going, reasons to be THANK GOD for, PRAYERS to pray
READ ACTS 5:17-29

17 The high priest and his officials, who were Sadducees, were filled with jealousy. 18 They arrested the apostles and put them in the public jail. 19 But an angel of the Lord came at night, opened the gates of the jail, and brought them out. Then he told them, 20 “Go to the Temple and give the people this message of life!” 21 So at daybreak the apostles entered the Temple, as they were told, and immediately began teaching. When the high priest and his officials arrived, they convened the high council—the full assembly of the elders of Israel. Then they sent for the apostles to be brought from the jail for trial. 22 But when the Temple guards went to the jail, the men were gone. So they returned to the council and reported, 23 “The jail was securely locked, with the guards standing outside, but when we opened the gates, no one was there!” 24 When the captain of the Temple guard and the leading priests heard this, they were perplexed, wondering where it would all end. 25 Then someone arrived with startling news: “The men you put in jail are standing in the Temple, teaching the people!” 26 The captain went with his Temple guards and arrested the apostles, but without violence, for they were afraid the people would stone them. 27 Then they brought the apostles before the high council, where the high priest confronted them. 28 “We gave you strict orders never again to teach in this man’s name!” he said. “Instead, you have filled all Jerusalem with your teaching about him, and you want to make us responsible for his death!” 29 But Peter and the apostles replied, “We must obey God rather than any human authority.

WERE FILLED WITH JEALOUSY
Full of jealousy testifies to their failure to spiritually lead Israel to the true Messiah or to recognize their own need for forgiveness in Jesus name
ANGEL OF THE LORD OPENED THE DOORS OF THE JAIL
Frequently in Acts, God rescues the apostles from danger or furthers the mission of the Church through angelic intermediaries— ACTS 8:26, 12:7 and 27:23
TELL THE PEOPLE ALL ABOUT THIS NEW LIFE
The apostles stood as public proof of the Lord’s resurrection
Jesus resurrection proves that He grants to believers new life that cannot be overcome by death
STANDING IN THE TEMPLE COURTS TEACHING THE PEOPLE
They were evangelizing at the temple courts— fellowship, discipleship, worship and ministry happens at their homes
WE GAVE STRICT ORDERS NOT TO TEACH IN THIS NAME
The leaders assert their authority once more, insisting the apostles should have been loyal to them instead of to Jesus
Their teaching made the fell so guilty about what they did to Jesus and they don’t want that
Jealousy and pride hinders then from seeing the truth
WE MUST OBEY GOD RATHER THAN HUMAN BEINGS
Peter suggested that the council’s motives and judgments directly against the will of God
How do you know the will of God?
Read the Bible— that’s why we’re here every morning doing daily devotional study
