Faith that Endures Part Four Faith Described • • • Faith deals with future things (“things hoped for”). Faith deals with unexperienced things (“things not seen”). True saving faith is enduring faith (10:39) Conviction of Faith • • Starts with God’s speaking (Romans 10:17) Requires a submissive ear (John 7:17) If anyone’s will is to do God’s will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority. John 7:17 Conviction of Faith • • • Starts with God’s speaking (Romans 10:17) Requires a submissive ear (John 7:17) The Holy Spirit’s persuasion (John 16:8) And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: John 16:8 Confidence of Faith • Confidence sees with expectation. Hebrews 12:1–2 Theological Foundations God’s trustworthiness is dependent on the reliability in His Word. Complete reliability requires that God is… • • • • Truthful (Numbers 23:19; Titus 1:2).
