v.1
Outraged that they are going outside of the church to handle church matters.
Why use humanly wisdom to judge church matters
v. 2 saints judge the world? I have no idea
judge - settle disputes between members of the church - they were all puffed up and they drew lines in the sand and everyone lined up on sides
v. 3 judge angels? I have no idea. mundane matters, everyday matters of life.
v. 4 who do you pick to be the judges? the godliest and wisest in Godly matters or human wisdom.
v. 5 why go to the outside to solve christian matters when they think what God says is foolish
note v. 14 & v. 11 brothers should be on the same page respecting the wisdom that comes for God 1:10
looking for someone with divine wisdom
v. 6 it’s already happening
v. 7 why bring shame to the church instead just let it go (owing money)
v. 8 why do you wrong and defraud
v. 9 faction leaders were saying you could be these things and go to heaven

Paul says not all things are good I’m not going to let other people outside dictate what right or wrong God does that
v. 13 food - if the body wants it give it what it wants - philosophical statement of the Greeks.
God will destroy it and them - not the operating principle we should operate on
divine wisdom - the body is not for fornication
v. 14 our bodies are not just for this life but another life
v. 15 bodies don’t belong to us (it’s my body, I can do what I want) It’s the Lord
