God is not going to show us His will until we first settle in our hearts that we are willing to do whatever He says. God’s will is not a choice to be made, but a command to be followed. Unless we are submitted to Him, He isn’t going to waste His breath giving us orders. But, as peerless theologian Lewis Sperry Chafer wrote in his book, He That Is Spiritual (Zondervan, 1918): “God is able to speak loud enough to make a willing soul hear” (emphasis mine).
