GOD IS WITH YOU EVERY DAY – A DEPOSIT OF POWER

How was your week? Any prayer requests?
Sunday recap: what do you guys remember from Sunday’s message?
When you hear the word of inheritance what comes to mind? What would be your definition of inheritance?

LET TALK ABOUT IT

When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. Ephesians 1:13–14 NIV
The word inheritance is to Joshua’s book what delis are to Manhattan: everywhere. The word appears nearly sixty times. The command to possess the land is seen five times. The great accomplishment of the Hebrew people came down to this: “So Joshua let the people depart, each to his own inheritance” (Joshua 24:28). Is it time for you to receive yours? You have one. If you have given your heart to Christ, God has given Canaan to you. He “has blessed [you] with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3).
Note the tense: “he has blessed.” Not “he will bless, might bless, or someday could possibly
bless.” You already have everything you need to be everything God desires. You have access to “every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.” This well may be the best-kept secret in Christendom. We underestimate what happened to us upon conversion. Because conversion is more than a removal of sin. It is a deposit of power. He embedded within you the essence (Spirit) of Christ. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Claim your inheritance.
What come to mind when you read “He has blessed you with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3?
· First, we have to understand they are spiritual blessings not physical.
HE HAS CHOSEN US. (VERSE 4)
“For he chose us in him before the creation of the world” (eph1:4)
2. HE HAS ADAPTED US (VERSE 5)
“ he predestined us for adoption to sonship n through Jesus Christ (EPh1:5)
3. HE HAS ACCEPTED US VERSE 6
6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. (eph 1:6)
4. HE HAS REDEEMED US (V7A.)
Redeem to purchase or set free by paying a price.
7 In Him we have redemption through His blood (eph1:6)
5. HE HAS FORGIVEN US (verse7B )
Forgive means to carry away.
the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace(Eph 1:7)
6. HE HAS REVEALED GOD’S WILL TO US. Verse (8-10)
having made known to us the mystery of His will (Eph 1:9)
7. HE HAS SEALED US. V13
you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise ( Eph 1:13)
In the ancient world, a seal was a form of identification used to authenticate and protect legal documents. A uniquely designed stone worn on a ring or necklace was used to mark clay or wax (Genesis 38:18; Esther 3:10; Isaiah 29:11) on a document.
In religious usage, “seal” meant that the power of the deity Or in our case the Holy Spirit protected the bearer and was available to him or her.

QUESTIONS:

According to the reading what happens when we are converted (give your life to Christ?)
Ephesians 1:13-14 it says you are marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit? What does this mean?
He embedded within you the essence (Spirit) of Christ. (Max Lucado)
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17) what does this mean for those that have given their lives to Jesus?
Recap what did you learn and how are you going to apply it?
