Introduction

Rewind
To be in the light, we must accept Jesus as our savior.
We must willingly admit that we sin and seek forgiveness for that sin.
We need to tell others by proclaiming the truth of who Jesus is.
Our actions are important to God
When we know Jesus we experience love like never before.
We must love others. There can’t be room for hate in our heart.
We must be spiritually growing
We should be reassured because of our faith in Jesus
We should hate sin and what it does
Have you ever noticed something and realized something in that setting or picture that didn’t belong?
That’s what we are introduced to here from John.
Verses 18-19
He begins by talking about the antichrist is coming....
Who is into video games?
Battle bad guys, leading up to the main boss.
That’s kinda what John is getting at here.
Verses 20-23
Who likes to be encouraged? Why?
Well, John liked to encourage too and that’s what he does here in verse 20.
He wants us to remember, as believers we have the truth and in that truth there is no lie.
And when we confess Jesus, we have the Father too. God
BUT, if we deny him or if someone denies him, then are an antichrist.
Verses 24-27
The truth that is within us separates us from the antichrists and makes us true Christians, because we are committed to him.
2 John 4 ESV
4 I rejoiced greatly to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as we were commanded by the Father.
What does it mean to be walking in the truth?
What does it mean to be anointed?
When we are anointed we have the truth in us.
When we confess Jesus, we have the Father too. God
Takeaways
There are antichrists, those that oppose Christ, right now.
We should be encouraged to have the truth of God.
When we confess Jesus as Lord, we have that truth.
