Intro

Wisdom comes from God (9-12)

wisdom not meant to be kept
Solomon made it available
viewed wisdom to be for everyone
proverbs, wisdom literature
words chosen carefully
to be sure his point comes across
wisdom comes from God
the point
guide and lead like a cattle prod
masters of wisdom
held together well like perfectly placed nails
all are given by one Shephered
one God
caretaker, provider, and protector
with hi being our provider, caretaker, and protector
all wisdom for life comes from him
but dont be overtaken by books
God’s wisdom can only be found in Him
James 1:5-6But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.
All Solomon has taught
worldly wisdom is fleeting
Death is coming…and fast
so seek after God!

Gear God (13-14)

We seek after God because we saw how this world has failed us
its fallen nature can no way give the guidance and wisdom that we need.
We at times, desire the things of the world. Even though they are not good for us
(Wilbur)
to follow God, is the purpose of humanity, all of it, to live life to its fullest, to understand life as its best, is to follow God
rejection of Him, is the rejection of the safety, the plans, and purpose he has for us.
The greatest wisdom is this: fear God and keep his commands
Why?
every action will be judged by him
good and bad
free will means consequences
he wants you to live a great life.. His desire is for us to enjoy life, to live it to its fullest
that requires fearing God and keeping his commands

Conclusion

when he created us He knew sin would seek to rule us
He knew we would be weak
he set forth plans to help us
Jesus’ death and resurrection
frees us from the hold of sin and temptation
allows us to follow God and live the life he planned for us
Jesus is the key
believe and follow Him.
