The Story of the Good Samaritan is a great picture of how mercy is played out in life. The lawyer who is challenged to think of who is neighbor answers the question for himself. The one who showed him mercy. We ourselves are challenged to answer the question who proved to be a neighbor. The mistake we is One cannot define one’s neighbour; one can only be a neighbour. If we are really to be the church we have to stop looking for the neighbor and just be the neighbor!
