4871. מָשָׁהmāšāh: A verb meaning to draw, to pull.
It indicates the action of drawing, pulling. It is used to form Moses’ name and expresses the action of Pharaoh’s daughter in pulling him from the Nile River (Ex. 2:10); and the action of Moses as he drew Israel out of Egypt. It is used figuratively of David being drawn from the waters of distress (2 Sam. 22:17; Ps. 18:16[17]).1
