Psalm 119:30
Choosing — Most things have a choice. What you wear — what you read— what you wear.
Now.. family? Can’t choose that but there is still choice in how you engage and relate to even the things that you seemingly “had no choice” in.
Psalm 119:173 ESV
Let your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen your precepts.
The content of your character is your choice. Day by day what you choose, what you think and what you do is who you become.”

GOOD CHOICES
Ruth 1:16–18 ESV
But Ruth said, “Do not urge me to leave you or to return from following you. For where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there will I be buried. May the Lord do so to me and more also if anything but death parts me from you.” And when Naomi saw that she was determined to go with her, she said no more.
Joshua 24:15 ESV
And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
How many have this hung on their wall or on a pillow somewhere?
Big choice right here…
What are we choosing.. DAILY. Joshua was exhorting the people to NOT worship the idols of the nations around them .. We so have Idolatry in 2020
Practically what can our choices look like — SLIDE CLICK —
Luke 10:38–42 ESV
Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”

Blessed Choices
How are these BLESSED choices? - Guys I deleted that heading and retyped it half a dozen times… but I had to come back to blessed choices. Some today call these Tough choices or maybe even impossible choices but I just can’t. They really are blessed choices…. Turn to…
1 Corinthians 11:3 ESV
But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God.
Ephesians 5:22–24 ESV
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.
Necessary Choices
Since we are on the fun topic of submission which I actually do think is fun… What else are we to CHOOSE to submit to?
— Church leadership (here in I Timothy as well as in Ephesians 4:11-12
Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God’ (Rom. 13:1).
1 Timothy 5:17 ESV
Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching.
Ephesians 4:11–12 ESV
And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,
Bad Choices
Jeremiah 6:16–19 ESV
Thus says the Lord: “Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’ I set watchmen over you, saying, ‘Pay attention to the sound of the trumpet!’ But they said, ‘We will not pay attention.’ Therefore hear, O nations, and know, O congregation, what will happen to them. Hear, O earth; behold, I am bringing disaster upon this people, the fruit of their devices, because they have not paid attention to my words; and as for my law, they have rejected it.

4. The parts that will literally take us from clinging to the dirt and delivering us an enlarged heart that CHOOSES HIS Word.. All of it!
