Abiding in the Vine John 15:1-11 - The illustration of the vine (1-6) Psalm 80:7-8 - 7 O God of hosts, restore us and cause Your face to shine upon us, and we will be saved. 8 You removed a vine from Egypt; you drove out the nations and planted it. Ezekiel 15:6 - 6 "Therefore, thus says the Lord GOD, 'As the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so have I given up the inhabitants of Jerusalem; - Jesus explained the illustration (7-11) Psalm 37:4 - 4 Delight yourself in the LORD; and He will give you the desires of your heart. God expects us to bear fruit, which is why He prunes us. Hebrews 12:4-11 We will not be able to bear fruit unless we abide in Jesus. Galatians 2:20 - 20 "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. Abiding in Jesus is the only source of our true joy. Philippians 4:4 - 4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Nehemiah 8:10b - 10 ... for the joy of the LORD is your strength."
