How God Speaks
“For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you” (Matt. 10:20).

I. God Speaks to His People

“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go” (Ps. 32:8).

A. God speaks to us through His Word.

B. God speaks to us through divinely-called ministers.

C. God speaks to us through providential means.

D. God speaks to us through His Holy Spirit.

II. God Speaks with His People

“And truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ” (1 John 1:3).

A. God speaks as we exercise fellowship with Him.

B. God speaks with us as a friend, for He is “a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.”

C. God speaks with us as a companion, for He has promised never to leave nor forsake us.

III. God Speaks through His People

“For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you” (Matt. 10:20).

A. Ministers and teachers should ask God’s direction and then believe that God speaks through them when they preach and teach.

B. Christians should ask for God’s guidance and then believe He speaks through them when they visit and witness for Christ.

C. Miracles begin to happen when we believe that God is saying the right thing at the right time and place through us.
