“SO GREAT SALVATION”

Heb. 2:1-3

Thesis: The salvation provided by Christ is the greatest ever contemplated by man.

Aim:    To help us appreciate more the salvation offered us.

Introduction:   This passage is usually used as a warning, which is proper. But, it can also be a great source of encouragement, by considering why the writer would speak of “so great salvation.”

I.          Great Because of the Savior  -  Matthew 1:21 -  Jesus!

II.        Great Because of the Doom it Rescues From!

Horrors of Hell:  “Weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Mt. 25:30);

 “...prepared for devil and his angels” (Mt. 25:41).

III.       Great Because of the Love which Provides It   (Jn. 3:16; Rom.5:8)

IV.       Great Because of the Multitude Who Shall Receive It. (Rev. 7:9, 10, 13-17)

V.         Great Because of its Cost   (Acts 20:28; Mt. 26:28)
