What does a “successful Christian” look like? What if the picture of success and advancement that we learn from society runs counter to God’s plan for his people? In Matthew 20:26-27 Jesus told his disciples that the pathway to greatness is humble service. And so while we’ve observed that the only means toward real and lasting unity in the church is having the mind of Christ, here we find that the mind of Christ will result in embracing the humility that characterized our Lord’s earthly life.
