The LORD appointed a great fish to swallow Jonah

In verse 17 a demonstration of the power of God, where God is showing His control over His creation. The seas has been and always will be a vast display of Gods power, with the strength to destroy what man has made. The fish or sea monster was appointed by God for a special job and that is what happened it ( the fish ) followed its appointment.

Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

I think we would all agree that Jonah was in the fish for three days and night so set that thought aside for a bit and look at the reality of what is the “three days and nights all about.
In other words where in the Bible can we find three days and nights? Time to look at all the references in scripture to the third day listed is just a few.
Gen 1:13, 22:4,31:22,34:25, and the list goes on from Genesis to Revelations there are so many we can spend days just looking them up. If you want a list I will help you with that. The theme “ The third day “ flows throughout the Bible, showing a pattern of importance.
Have you ever seen a pattern in scripture? If so what? I know we must slow down and take the time in the word allowing God time to show ( teach )or reveal what He wants us to see. This will not occur unless we change because God does not change then the problem is us.
It is time to get out of whatever it is that is holding one back and march forward delivering the message of Christ.
Verse one of capture two is a continuation of verse seventeen of capture one they should be looked at together. Then the Prayer section starts, this is a copy and paste from all over the old testament, in other words Jonah is was repeating a lot of Psalms.

I called to the LORD in my distress,

and he answered me.

I cried out for help from deep inside Sheol;

you heard my voice.

Look at the common things as to PS. 18:4-6

4 The ropes of death were wrapped around me;

the torrents of destruction terrified me.

5 The ropes of Sheol entangled me;

the snares of death confronted me.

6 I called to the LORD in my distress,

and I cried to my God for help.

From his temple he heard my voice,

and my cry to him reached his ears.
