Welcome to another week of church and as always I am so excited that we are joined together today to worship and praise God together. As we continue along our series of Hezekiah I had an interesting thought when it comes to some of the things that happen when a pastor preaches or when any Christian teacher teaches. We often will start with certian points of view that we take fore granted because we often are speaking to a gathering of believers and we forget that it is important to still speak with the idea that not everyone may believe or think the same thing that we know is theologically correct or true. This Foregone conclusion can be dangerous. This idea that we think we know that everyone would know exactly what we are talking about. I mean that is how so many people ended up in bad situations. I think about sports.
In 2017 The Atlanta flacons had a 28-3 lead over the New England Patriots. THey ended blowing that lead which will go down as one of the greatest comebacks of all time.
For all my Kansas City Fans the Chiefs were down 20 -10 with 8:12 left int he game. They were facing one of the best defenses in the league and many people thought that it would have been out of reach for the chiefs as the game was closing in on the end. However, this foregone conclusion ended up not becoming true. Now I am sure we can sit here and think of some other examples but sports was the easiest one for me. This idea of the foregone conclusion is important as we start to dig into Hezekiah some more.

Hezekiah Recap

Last week we examined the prayer of Hezekiah and how important it was that the focus of the prayer was on giving God the glory and not on the personal gain of the individual that is praying. This is something that we needed to emphasize as we enter into our prayer life and in the way that we approach our faith because it should always be done in an attitude of bringing God the glory and not ourselves. This is where we pick the story back up and we see that the Prophet Isaiah has come to deliver the words of the Lord to Hezekiah.
Isaiah 37:21–22 NIV
21 Then Isaiah son of Amoz sent a message to Hezekiah: “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Because you have prayed to me concerning Sennacherib king of Assyria, 22 this is the word the Lord has spoken against him: “Virgin Daughter Zion despises and mocks you. Daughter Jerusalem tosses her head as you flee.
