SUFFERING | But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. (1 Pe 3:14).

Reasons for suffering

We live in a world hostile to the gospel (1 Pet 2:12)

People are fallen and relationship are imperfect (1 Pet 2:18-19; 3:1-8)

Our own sinfulness (1 Pet 2:20)

Christ suffered as our example (1 Pet 2:21)

It may actually be God’s will that you suffer (1 Pet 3:17)

Even if you do everything right you may still suffer, in fact, you may suffer because you do what is right (1 Peter 3:14, 17)

HOW TO RESPOND TO SUFFERING

Speak to God (1 Pet 3:12)

Entrust your soul to God (1 Pe 4:19)

Focus on truth (1 Pet 3:14)

You are blessed

The Lord will vindicate

Genuine Faith Produces Fruit

Inner peace (1 Pet 3:14)

Hope (1 Pet 3:15)

Good behavior (1 Pet 3:16)
