Last week We read in Romans where Paul described the plight of the pagans. To them that had no formal knowledge of the real God, and the Plight of the Pagan is this that God has turned them over to their own ways because they did not obey the light that they were given. They have hardened their hearts, and supressed the truth and as a result God handed them over to their own way.
Verse 22 although they claim to be very wise they actually become fools, and exchange the glory of the immortal God and give glory to man, they begin to worship the earth rather than God.
24 god gives them up to lusts, they begin to dishonor their bodies among themselves, start sleeping around, H e then hands them over to false worship
26 God goes further and gives them up to dishonrable passions, it would seem that there is a further hardening and they pervert themselves further with homosexuality
28 God them gives them up to a debased mind, a reprobabte mind, one that is completely blinded, completely swallowed up by sin, and they are filled to the brim with things below.
Now then that is the pagan, yeah you tell them pagans preacher, hold on. Now Paul is about to deal with the religious crowd. He doesn’t let them escape.
He pinpoints hypocrisy
THE POINT THAT PAUL MAKES IS THAT THE WHOLE WORLD IS UNDER THE LAW OF GOD, and rather you are a pagan that sins without the knowledge of the law, or a Sabbath Kepping, Kosher Jew its doesn’t matter. Knowlege of the Law wont do you any good if you do not keep it.
