The Wrap-Up
Titus 3:12-15
Titus 3:12-15
Artemas: not mentioned elsewhwere
Tychicus is a name mentioned in Acts, Ephesians, Colossians, and 2 Timothy
Two possibilities: one is that Paul is sending someone to take over, so that Titus can hand-off the work.
The other is that Paul doesn’t want Titus traveling alone-
It’s probably the replacement approach
Zenas and Apollos are highlighted as folks to help in transit
: The Work of the Gospel is never about just one person.
NEVER.
(Except in that it is always about the one Person in Jesus Christ our Lord, but that’s a different angle)
Work with; find others to work with; offer, involve, engage
Note that Titus is the primary recipient of this letter, but Paul closes with “grace be with all of you,” addressed to the work team and the church as a whole
Closing remarks:
Devote themselves to good works—commit, follow, engage in
That is what we need to be about.
But we do not do it alone.
