God of Happy Endings

Intro

We love movies with happy endings.  Even with all our cynicism these days.

There have been a couple of movies that I have watched that didn’t have happy endings, and while they may have been good movies, you’re left feeling like something was wrong. 

Avril-so much for my happy ending.

There is not a happy ending unless there is a hateful middle.

The End vs. Now

I know I will win,, but…

I know I will have the victory, but…

Will I find the right person for me?

Will I get into the right school

Will I figure out who I am and why I am here?

Will I have true friends

Will my body ever be the way I want it to be?

If are stuck in the hateful middle your prayers get repetitive…they start sounding the same.

“God it’s me again…nothing has changed.  No new info…

Isaiah talks about the waiting

Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV) "But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint."

Deep down we all are expecting a happy ending.  That’s why when you ask people if they expect to go to heaven 90% will say yes, regardless of whether or not they know and live for the Lord.

I wonder what would have happened if Paul had seen his hateful middle ahead of time.

Friends failed him

It is the place of turning back, or no turning back.

It is the place where it is you and God, no one else.

It is the place where you come to terms with the fact that God is going to do and act without asking your permission and apart from your personal understanding of how things should be!
