I. Holding on to the past will never bring security to the future.
10 Don’t say, “Why were the former days better than these?”
since it is not wise of you to ask this.
13 Consider the work of God,
for who can straighten out
what he has made crooked?
14 In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity, consider: God has made the one as well as the other, so that no one can discover anything that will come after him.
II. Uncertainty is Promised Ecc. 7:14
III. The discomfort of uncertainty should bare the fruit of growth James 1:1-16
2 Consider it a great joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you experience various trials, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 And let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.
5 Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God—who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly—and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith without doubting. For the doubter is like the surging sea, driven and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord, 8 being double-minded and unstable in all his ways.,
