On the verge

Polie - special

Intro

I am at a position in ministry that I have never been at before.  We are poised to step into a new era in youth ministry.  God is going to raise up a new thing…a youth church that will touch the nations.

Isaiah 43:19 (NKJV) "Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert."

But at the same time we are exactly where we have always been.

Early on we asked for the nations…and God heard us.  But we weren’t ready.  But I believe that He has been maneuvering us ever since.  Preparing us, positioning us,

The Promised Land

Numbers 13 The Children of Israel had come out of Egypt and marched through the desert.  The Lord had promised them a land that flowed with abundance of resources.

They stood on the verge of the promise after 400 years of slavery they would have their own land to work, settle on and call their own.

They sent out spies to check out the lay of the land and the enemy’s strength.

Note:  God’s promises don’t just happen to you, he expects you to fight for it.  God partners with us, He doesn’t dump stuff in our laps.

Spies returned and 10 out of 12 said it was going to be too hard.  They didn’t have enough faith in the Lord to inherit the promise.  They had forgotten (already) what had led them to that point.

The Lord had decimated the most powerful army on the earth.  He had sent powerful plagues upon the enemies of Israel, they had been following a cloud pillar by day, and a pillar of fire by night up to that very point! And here they are saying it’s too hard.

All of a sudden God was not enough…so God sent them for a little walk, until they would be ready.

I am ready!  I don’t want anymore wilderness!  I don’t want anymore dust and sand in my teeth!  But in order to inherit the promise we must remember what has gotten us to this place.

Forerunner Youth Ministries exist to:

REACH the Lost at any cost, help them to IDENTIFY with other Christians, EQUIP them to grow in their faith, and DISCOVER their ministry, while living a life of PASSION unto the Lord.

I need people to rise up who will care not only about themselves, but will be willing to enlarge your heart enough to carry others.

“Are you with me…or am I by myself?”

Huddle at the end!
