Revelation 3:8–10 “8 “I know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can close. You have little strength, yet you obeyed my word and did not deny me. 9 Look, I will force those who belong to Satan’s synagogue—those liars who say they are Jews but are not—to come and bow down at your feet. They will acknowledge that you are the ones I love. 10 “Because you have obeyed my command to persevere, I will protect you from the great time of testing that will come upon the whole world to test those who belong to this world.”

The circumstance of each church today is the same as that of ancient Philadelphia: Christ takes notice of each member. As I just read in verse 9, He sees that some are His true servants, but others are really patrons of Satan,

Now let’s pay close attention to something here. NOTICE THAT CHRIST “OPENED” THIS DOOR. “I HAVE …”

So, what door? We often say, “God has opened this door or God has closed this door. Only Jesus has power to open?close this door, John 14:6 “Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”. So Jesus is telling us He is the only door, the only way to the Father.

Jesus controls the Holy Spirit’s power, John 16:7–11 tells us:
Jesus controls the Holy Spirit’s power, John 16:7–11 tells us:
7 But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate (Holy Spirit) won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you. 8 And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment. 9 The world’s sin is that it refuses to believe in me. 10 Righteousness is available because I go to the Father, and you will see me no more. 11 Judgment will come because the ruler of this world has already been judged.

Jesus is constantly watching this door, In James 5:9 we read: “Don’t grumble about each other, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. For look—the Judge is standing at the door!”

This door is attractive—“many … go in,” the door of Satan. Matthew 7:13–15 13 “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. 14 But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it. 15 “Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep but are really vicious wolves.”

The rulers of Israel tried to close it, (Jesus). Matthew 23:13 “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you shut the door of the Kingdom of Heaven in people’s faces. You won’t go in yourselves, and you don’t let others enter either.”

Saul of Tarsus attempted to shut it, The door to Our Father. Acts 9:1–2 “Meanwhile, Saul was uttering threats with every breath and was eager to kill the Lord’s followers. So he went to the high priest. 2 He requested letters addressed to the synagogues in Damascus, asking for their cooperation in the arrest of any followers of the Way (Christianity) he found there. He wanted to bring them—both men and women—back to Jerusalem in chains.”

So we see that “Saul” tried to close the door, now we see that The Roman Empire tried but could not close it either.

We are approaching a new time of blessing. New opportunities, new doors opening, new journeys, new ways that God is calling us through learning and Jesus Christ.

A new season of progress through witnessing, others about Our Savior, Jesus Christ. Luke tells us in Acts 1:8.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
