Where are You Going?
Where are You Going?
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.
Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
Everyone is Going Somewhere
Everyone is Going Somewhere
Many are in a hurry to get somewhere
Work, School, College, Shopping, Party, Vacation, Trip
Where are they REALLY going?
Our Life is a Journey
Our Life is a Journey
The journey began when we were born.
The journey continues every day of our life on earth.
Where are WE going?
Our Journey has a Final Destination
Our Journey has a Final Destination
We may have many stops along the way, but one day we will arrive at our final destination.
There are only two final destinations.
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.
Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
One destination is destruction. The other destination is eternal life.
Our journey ends when we arrive at our final destination when we die.
Do you know where YOU are going? Do you know YOUR final destination?
Our Destination is Conditioned on a Choice
Our Destination is Conditioned on a Choice
Two gates
The WIDE Gate
The NARROW Gate: Jesus is the Door
I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.
Two paths
The WIDE gate leads to the BROAD way
The NARROW gate leads to the NARROW way
Two destinations
Destruction
Life
Strive to enter the Narrow Gate
“Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able.
Knowing the Way
Knowing the Way
How can we find our way to an earthly destination?
Directions from someone who has been there and knows the way.
A map atlas
A GPS
How do we know the way to the Father in heaven?
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.
In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Jesus came from the Father and knows the Way.
He is the both the GATE (Entrance) and the PATH (Means) to the Father in heaven.
He is the ONLY way to the Father. There are not many ways to this destination. There are many ways to hell. The way to heaven is exclusive and absolute.
The Word of God is our atlas that maps out the path of life.
The Holy Spirit is our GPS who guides us to our destination.
You must choose to follow Jesus by faith
By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.
